Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the produce come from?

Our produce comes from organic farmers throughout Florida.  Some produce comes from small family owned organic farms and gardens in Jacksonville, including our own organic indoor gardens.  On occasion some produce comes from the East Coast and California if Florida farmers are not growing a whole lot (usually during July and August because it’s so hot).

Which size and what pick up frequency is right for me?

In general, the small package feeds between 1-2 people weekly, the medium 2-4 people weekly, and the large 4+ people weekly, but it depends on how many fruits and veggies you eat and how often you cook.  You can change your package size at any time.  Picking up weekly offers the most variety of fruits and vegetables, but if that is too often, you can choose to pick up every other week. You can change your pick up frequency at any time.

How many fruits and vegetables come in each package?

Every week our packages contain a various assortment of seasonal and local fruits and vegetables.  There are usually 4-5 types of vegetables and 3-4 types of fruits with fresh herbs and spices like garlic and ginger making appearances regularly.  You can stop by on a pick up day prior to joining to see how much comes in each package.

How will we know what is coming in our package each week?

You will receive an email with the list of what is coming in your produce package along with recipes for that week’s produce package.

What if I hate tomatoes or I am allergic to strawberries?

Feel free to let us know what you cannot eat by listing it on the registration form.

What if I have to go out of town for business or vacation?

If you know you are leaving town let us know one week before you leave and we will make sure to suspend your produce packages until you get back.  If you have a friend or relative who would like to try the organic produce club, this would be a perfect opportunity for them to have a trial run if you would like them to pick up your packages while you are gone.

What if I forget to pick up my produce package?

We will call or email you towards the end of the pick up day if you have not arrived.  We will also call your emergency pick up contact to see if they can pick up for you.  You are responsible for the produce that is ordered for you whether or not you pick up unless you have given one week’s advance notice.  There is a $10 charge for produce not picked up on the designated pick up day, unless prior arrangements have been made.

What if something in my package is not of good quality?

If you find that something in your produce package that is not fresh, goes bad quickly (within 24 hours) or is not up to par, call or email us.  We will do our best to make up for the loss and offer you extra produce on your next pick up day.
